New Year's Day Plunge

The 15th edition in 2025

On January 1st, 2025, the New Year's Day Plunge of Brindisi celebrated its fifteenth edition in the Materdomini cove, on the northern coast of the city. The morning began at 10:30 AM with a presentation by Brindisi journalist Nico Lorusso, followed by the blessing of the waters, the countdown, and the collective plunge around 11:00 AM. The testimonial for the edition was Don Cosimo Schena.

Numbers and solidarity

The edition exceeded 250 registrations and attracted about 4,000 spectators to the beach, with divers arriving from Austria, France, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Malaysia, Chile, Canada, the United States, and a couple from London. Organized by the Summer Time - Animazione & Spettacolo group, the event donated 5,600 euros to ANGSA for the «Home Lab - Visioni inclusive» project, supporting girls and boys with autism and their families, the highest contribution ever raised under the new management of the event.
