About Choral Competition City of Vittorio Veneto

Founded in 1966, the National Choral Competition Trophies City of Vittorio Veneto is Italy's longest-running choral competition. For three days, choirs from all over the country compete at the Da Ponte Theatre and the Pieve di Sant'Andrea in the categories of sacred polyphony, secular polyphony, folk song, pop-jazz, gospel, and school choirs, in an event that makes Vittorio Veneto, in the province of Treviso, a capital of choral singing.

Italy's longest-running choral competition

The National Choral Competition Trophies City of Vittorio Veneto is Italy's oldest choral competition: founded in 1966 by Carlo Berlese, it has accompanied the musical life of the city in the province of Treviso for almost sixty years. Every year it attracts amateur and high-level choirs from all over the country, transforming Vittorio Veneto into a reference point for the world of choral singing.

The categories

The competition is divided into several categories: a cappella sacred polyphony, secular polyphony, folk-inspired singing, pop-jazz, gospel and spiritual, and categories reserved for school choirs (lower and upper secondary schools). A jury of experts evaluates the performances, awarding prestigious Trophies.

The venues

Performances are mainly held at the Da Ponte Theatre, while a cappella sacred polyphony finds its ideal setting in the Pieve di Sant'Andrea in Bigonzo. The competition concludes with the final concert of the best-ranked choirs.
