Three nights of world-class jazz in the heart of Salento
The Nardò Jazz Festival is one of the most refined musical highlights of the Salento summer. Every June, the Villa Comunale of Nardò—with its scenic botanical garden nestled beneath the castle walls—becomes an open-air stage where international jazz icons and local Apulian talents take turns in the spotlight. The festival takes place in the town of Nardò, in the province of Lecce, the heart of southern Puglia and Salento.
The festival, organized by the Punto d'Incontro APS association in collaboration with the local administration, is defined by a clear mission: to host world-renowned jazz stars while acting as a cultural incubator for young musicians and the musical excellence of Salento and Puglia. This balance has successfully attracted thousands of spectators, both residents and tourists, year after year.
All performances begin at 9:30 PM and admission is completely free. This commitment makes the Nardò Jazz Festival an event deeply rooted in the community, capable of introducing a wide and diverse audience to the language of jazz within a stunning natural and historical setting.
The program elegantly spans the various languages of contemporary jazz: from Italian signature jazz and Hammond organ blues to the warm, vibrant atmospheres of Brazilian music. Each evening is dedicated to a different ensemble, offering the audience a sonic journey that weaves together instrumental virtuosity, artistic research, and great communicative power.
A Baroque city of art just a few kilometers from the Ionian coast's beaches, Nardò provides the ideal backdrop for a festival that prides itself on quality and hospitality. Attending a concert in the castle garden on a balmy June evening means experiencing Salento in its most authentic dimension: culture, music, and conviviality under the stars.
The sixth edition of the Nardò Jazz Festival brought the Villa Comunale of Nardò to life from June 26 to 28, 2026, confirming the formula of three free evenings in the castle's botanical garden, as part of the city's summer program "Onde di Cultura". Organized by Punto d'Incontro APS, the edition offered a journey through contemporary Italian jazz, blues, and Brazilian music.
