Nine days of craftsmanship and know-how in the medieval village of Valle Camonica
The Mostra Mercato di Bienno is the major summer event that annually transforms one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy into a stage dedicated to craftsmanship and know-how. Bienno, nestled in Valle Camonica in the Province of Brescia, is a town with a very long metallurgical tradition: for centuries, its forges, powered by the water from the Vaso Re, have shaped iron, and even today the historic hammers are an integral part of the village's identity.
During the nine days of the event, the cobbled streets, courtyards, and ancient buildings of the historic center host over 140 selected exhibitors. They range from artistic crafts to typical local products, from wood and metalworking to ceramics and textiles, in a journey that celebrates Lombard "know-how". The event attracts almost 200,000 visitors, numbers that place it among the most attended craft events in the region.
The Mostra Mercato is not a simple fair: the village comes alive with themed routes, workshops for families and children, live demonstrations of crafts, and an interactive map that guides visitors through the different areas. Strolling through Bienno during the exhibition means discovering both an intact medieval architectural heritage and a still-vibrant artisan tradition.
The XXXIV edition opens on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM and continues for nine days. The village hosts over 140 exhibitors dedicated to artistic crafts, traditional trades, and local products, with workshops for families, themed routes, and an interactive map. Expected visitor numbers are in line with previous editions: around 200,000 visitors.
The detailed program of individual events will be published on the official website in the weeks preceding the event.
