Montecchio Medievale - The Feud

In 2025, Montecchio Maggiore once again celebrated its most beloved re-enactment. The event combined theatre and history: the evening performance in Piazza Marconi, with two costumed processions from the districts of San Pietro and San Vitale and the show dedicated to the feud between the Montecchi and Capuleti families, and the day of re-enactment at the Scaligeri Castles of Bellaguardia and della Villa.

Along the route, medieval encampments, demonstrations of ancient crafts, performances by falconers and flag-wavers, old games, and the election of the new Juliet and Romeo attracted visitors from all over the West Vicentino area. The event, organized by the Associazione Storico-Culturale Giulietta e Romeo APS, confirmed its identity role for the city.

The usual structure of the event in the 2025 edition: evening theatrical performance in Piazza Marconi with processions from the districts of San Pietro and San Vitale; day of historical re-enactment at the Scaligeri Castles with artisans, merchants, falconers, knights, flag-wavers, and ancient games. Free admission.
