Monte Sant'Angelo Longobarda 2025

From June 25 to 28, 2025, Monte Sant'Angelo commemorated fourteen years since the inscription of the Lombard sites of the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The celebrations, free and by reservation, combined scientific and popular moments with the involvement of the Municipality, the Puglia Region, and the Centre for Michaelic and Gargano Studies of the University of Bari.

The program

Key events included: the conference on the CAMPUS project for climate adaptation of UNESCO sites, children's workshops "Traveling with the Lombards", the memorandum of understanding with the Municipality of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi (Avellino), and night-time cultural walks, trekking, and e-bike tours in the Foresta Umbra. June 28 marked the culmination with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Centre for Michaelic and Gargano Studies, the White Night of cultural heritage, and the concert by Gianluca Guidi dedicated to Frank Sinatra. The celebrations continued with "Happy Birthday UNESCO Beech Forests" dedicated to the second Gargano site.
