Edition 2025 — Contrada Festivals

During the summer of 2025, the districts of Monopoli renewed the tradition of religious festivals, from Saint Francis in Laghezza on July 11-12 to Santa Lucia ai Monti on September 12-13. A widespread calendar of patronal celebrations that animated the Monopoli hinterland throughout the season with masses, processions, illuminations, and bands.

The 2025 edition of the Monopoli Contrada Festivals confirmed the vitality of the territory's rural communities. The calendar opened on July 11-12 with the feast of Saint Francis in Contrada Laghezza, continuing with Our Lady of Sorrows in Impalata (July 18-19) and the Holy Family in Sicarico (July 25-26). In August, the feasts of the Immaculate Conception in Gorgofreddo (1-2), Saint Clare in Contrada Capitolo (10-11) — one of the most popular — and the Assumption in L'Assunta (29-30) were held. In September, the celebrations of Mary Queen in Contrada Antonelli (5-6) and Santa Lucia ai Monti (12-13) took place. As per tradition, each festival combined solemn mass and processions with illuminations, brass bands, and typical Puglian gastronomy, all with free admission.
