Edition 2025 — Mompeo in the Renaissance

On June 14 and 15, 2025, Mompeo experienced two entirely Renaissance days. The historical pageant opened the event in the late afternoon, followed by flag-wavers and the opening of the gastronomic tavern run by the ladies and knights of the Pro Loco. Between animated castle tours, exhibitions, period dances, combat games, and a final show with fire and magic, the Sabine village transformed into an open-air set.

The 2025 edition

On Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2025, the village of Mompeo (Rieti, Lazio) hosted two days of Renaissance re-enactment. The Mompeo historical pageant opened the event at 6 PM, followed by the flag-wavers from the Città della Pieve group; at 7 PM, the gastronomic tavern, managed by the ladies and knights of the Pro Loco Mompeo, opened, along with the ancient games of Sir Michele da Mompeo.

The program included animated tours of the castle halls with the mystery of the missing banner, theatrical performances, an exhibition of arts and costumes by the Arenarius Renaissance Group of Ornaro, the Shots of History photographic exhibition, and Renaissance dances by the Sant'Oreste Historical Group.

On Sunday morning, the banner hunt took place through the streets of the village; in the afternoon, the Saturday activities were repeated, with the addition of fencing and combat by the Banderari Company and the show The Art of Dancing or Ballets. In the evening, the papal procession arrived with the guest of honor, the drums of the Bocchignano Group, the joust of the Banderari knights, and the final show with fire, love, and magic.
