Misiddra Festival

2025 Edition

Also in 2025, the people of Marsala cultivated their devotion to Maria Santissima della Cava, affectionately called "Misiddra" in the local dialect, gathering at the Santuario della Cava for prayer and the veneration of the small Marian statue. The cult, which has its heart in the cave in the Porticella area where the statue was found in 1518, renewed the strong bond of identity between the city of Marsala and its heavenly protector. The event was part of the rich devotional calendar dedicated to the patron saint, of which the main festival on January 19 represents the most heartfelt moment.
