Milan discovers its dance week
Milano Dance Week is the new festival that aims to bring dance to the center of Milan's cultural scene (Municipality of Milan, Lombardy). The first edition takes place from September 21 to 27, 2026 at the Teatro della Quattordicesima, in via Oglio 18, in the 4th Municipality, under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and the 4th Municipality.
A stage for local talent
The project was created to transform Milan into a grand stage dedicated to dance, valuing the talent of professional companies and high-level training schools in the Milan metropolitan area. The Teatro della Quattordicesima, which in recent years has relaunched its identity with a focus on contemporary dance, provides the stage, rehearsal spaces, and technical support (audio and lighting) for selected participants.
Two sections
- Main Program: dedicated to longer productions, with economic recognition based on a percentage of the evening's box office revenue.
- Choreographic Showcase: dedicated to shorter works, with free participation.
Selection is made through an application call (applications by June 15, 2026), which also guarantees promotion through the festival's channels and ticketing services. An initiative intended to provide visibility and concrete opportunities for choreographers, dancers, and companies from the region.
