Edition 2025 — Chestnut Festival

The 32nd edition of the Micigliano Chestnut Festival took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Piazza Brigata Alpina Julia. Food stalls opened at 12:30 PM with a menu entirely dedicated to the Antrodoco chestnut: chestnut soup, red wine-braised beef with chestnuts, chestnut purée, and bread with ricotta and chestnut honey. At 3:00 PM, free roasted chestnuts were distributed, followed by dancing and fireworks at 5:00 PM.

The village of Micigliano, in the province of Rieti, hosted the 32nd Chestnut Festival on Sunday, October 26, 2025, organized by the local Pro Loco in Piazza Brigata Alpina Julia. This was the second consecutive edition following the revival of the event, which returned in 2024 after several years of interruption.

Daily schedule

  • 12:30 PM — opening of food stalls
  • 3:00 PM — free distribution of roasted chestnuts

Live music accompanied the entire day. The edition confirmed the festival's vocation to promote the Antrodoco chestnut and attract visitors from Rieti, L'Aquila, and Rome to a village of just over a hundred inhabitants.
