Michael Festival – International Heritage Festival

The eighth edition of the Michael Festival was held in Monte Sant'Angelo from May 7 to 10, 2025, during the special Jubilee year, with the theme «The hope of pilgrims». The festival offered workshops for children, multimedia exhibitions, pilgrimages, pilgrim hospitality, e-bike excursions, and cultural walks in the Gargano city of two UNESCO sites.

Among the major events: the lighting of Saint Michael's «sword of light», with light projections on the Sanctuary facades; the musical recital «Angels» with Pierdavide Carone, Cosimo Damiano Damato, and Lucia Scarabino; and, as a grand finale, the historical re-enactment of the battle between the Byzantines and Lombards. An edition that united the spiritual dimension of pilgrimage with culture and spectacle, confirming Monte Sant'Angelo as one of the great Michaelic centers of Europe.
