MetJazz

The 2025 edition marked the thirtieth anniversary of MetJazz: the 30th edition, titled «Is that Jazz?» and curated by Stefano Zenni, doubled its duration and number of concerts, extending from January 20 to April 14, 2025. The festival opened with the trios of Addabbo and Falzone and brought major international protagonists to Prato such as Dave Holland, Lionel Loueke, Amaro Freitas, and Eric Mingus.

Among the most evocative events, on March 24 at the Metastasio, "Profumo di Violetta" was performed, a meeting between saxophonist and clarinetist Gianluigi Trovesi and the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato, a journey through the history of opera from Purcell to Puccini. The grand finale on April 14 celebrated the vitality of African American music with double bassist Silvia Bolognesi and the voice of Eric Mingus. Furthermore, the "MetJazz in the city" section was born, in collaboration with the Giuseppe Verdi School of Music, the Camerata Strumentale, and other Prato institutions.
