The summer festival of the hamlet of Melere
In the hamlet of Melere, part of Trichiana in Borgo Valbelluna (province of Belluno), August is the month of the Festa del Melere. For two weeks, the small mountain village becomes a gathering place for residents and visitors, with food stalls, music, and outdoor activities.
Polenta e osei, the signature dish
The heart of the festival is the polenta e osei, a local interpretation of the traditional dish: polenta served with meats such as sausages and pork ribs. Alongside this specialty, the stall offers casunziei, alpine cheeses, and DOC wines from the region, in a menu that showcases the mountain cuisine of Valbelluna.

Melere Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Festa del Melere enlivens the hamlet of Melere from August 1 to 15, with hours from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM on weekends. Two weeks of mountain gastronomy, music, and excursions, centered around the signature dish, polenta e osei.

How to get there
Melere is a hamlet of Trichiana (Borgo Valbelluna), reachable from the SS50 towards Trichiana, in Valbelluna (province of Belluno). Free parking is available about 500m from the festival area.
Opening hours and admission
Free admission to the festival area. Hours: 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM on weekdays, 10:00 AM - 12:00 AM on weekends. Main dishes cost approximately €12-16.
