Medonne du Tremelizze Festival (Madonna of the Earthquake)

The 2025 edition of the Medonne du Tremelizze confirmed Molfetta's loyalty to one of its most ancient identity-defining rituals. On May 11th, as every year since 1560, the community gathered around the icon of the Madonna dei Martiri to renew the vow made following the earthquake that spared the city. The day followed the usual pattern: veneration of the image, the procession through the streets of the center accompanied by the band's music, and the concluding Eucharistic Celebration, with the symbolic gesture of offering oil and lighting the votive lamp. An appointment that, in the heart of the Puglian spring, reaffirmed the deep bond between the people of Molfetta and their Madonna.
