Mediterranean Traditions between Future and Sustainability is the photography exhibition animating Fermo's cultural spring, in the evocative Sala dei Ritratti of the Palazzo dei Priori, overlooking Piazza del Popolo. The exhibition brings together shots by international photographers, all united by having had their images published in National Geographic, and offers a visual journey through the cultures, landscapes, and traditions of the Mediterranean basin.
The project and the curator
The exhibition originates from the initiative of Fermo photographer Marco Raccichini, who decided to enhance his city by bringing a grand exhibition to Fermo. The common thread is the theme of travel: not just geographical displacement, but also encounters between peoples, remembrance of traditions, and reflection on a more sustainable future. The photographs are not presented alone, but in an original dialogue with objects from the collections of the Fermo civic museums, so that contemporary images accompany and enrich the narrative of local heritage.
An exceptional venue
The Palazzo dei Priori, a 13th-century building symbol of the Municipality of Fermo, in the Province of Fermo (Marche), houses the Civic Art Gallery, the famous Sala del Mappamondo, and the reception halls, including the Sala dei Ritratti which hosts the exhibition. Visiting the exhibition therefore means immersing oneself at the same time in one of the most important cultural venues in the Marche region.

The exhibition Mediterranean Traditions between Future and Sustainability is hosted in Fermo from May 16 to June 14, 2026 in the Sala dei Ritratti of the Palazzo dei Priori. How to get there
By car: exit Porto San Giorgio-Fermo on the A14 motorway, then take the Mare-Monti dual carriageway towards Fermo. By train: Porto San Giorgio-Fermo station on the Adriatic line, connected to the historic center by bus. The Palazzo dei Priori is located in the heart of the upper town, on Piazza del Popolo.
Museum opening hours
From September 15 to June 15: Tuesday-Friday 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM / 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM / 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM; Monday closed. It is advisable to check the specific exhibition hours before your visit.
Tickets
Access is via the ticket for the Fermo museum circuit: full price 10 euros (valid for one year), reduced price 8 euros (ages 14-25, groups, FAI/Touring Club/Italia Nostra members), ticket for a single structure 4 euros. Free for children up to 13 years old and affiliated categories.
