Edition 2025 — Ovindoli Medieval Historical Pageant
The 2025 Edition
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM, the historic center of Ovindoli hosted the Medieval Historical Pageant "The Fate of a King," dedicated to re-enacting the passage of Charles I of Anjou through the plains of Ovindoli in 1268, on the eve of the Battle of the Piani Palentini.
The citizens of Ovindoli and its hamlets brought the streets and squares of the village to life, wearing period costumes and accompanied by flag-wavers, musicians, and jesters. The event, promoted by the Marsica Medioevale project led by architect Lorenzo Fallocco with the support of the Municipality of Ovindoli and the Carispaq Foundation, reaffirmed the desire to promote the historical identity of the Marsica region and the role of this territory in the medieval history of Southern Italy.
