The May 1st celebration at the Terrazza dei Popoli in Macerata
Primo Maggio in Terrazza is the event with which the Municipality of Macerata enlivens May 1st at the Terrazza dei Popoli, the large panoramic space adjacent to the Giardini Diaz, in the heart of the capital of the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. Born as a bet on a location never used before for events of this type, the event has transformed the terrace into a large open-air lounge capable of welcoming an audience of all ages, from morning until late at night.
The festival begins in the morning at 10 am with the opening of information booths curated by the Municipality and the University of Macerata, dedicated to services for young people and families and the university's educational offerings. This is the social and community dimension that characterizes the event, promoted by the departments of Tourism and Events, Youth Policies, and Social Policies.
From 12 pm, the food and wine stands open, with the classic outdoor snack curated by the Pro Loco Macerata: local cured meats and cheeses, grilled meat, and local wine, in a zero-kilometer menu designed to showcase Marche products. The Klorophilla staff manages the bar, with beer and cocktails prepared by professional bartenders.
The afternoon heats up from 6 pm with live music from the Time Generation Band and the project Non solo 70, alongside DJ Fabio Evangelista, for a journey through the greatest hits from the seventies to today. From 9 pm, the DJ set takes over the terrace until late at night, with Luca Moretti, Marco Mosck, Gianmarco Angeletti, and Alexander jr, accompanied by vocalists Alex Sblendorio and Giusi Minnozzi from Multiradio.
Since its debut, Primo Maggio in Terrazza has established itself as a city alternative to the classic day trip out of town or to the seaside: a proposal that combines fun, gastronomy, and social interaction in one of Macerata's most evocative panoramic viewpoints. The progression of the day accompanies the audience from families and the elderly in the morning to young people in the evening, in a popular and inclusive festival that reflects the spirit of the city and the Marche region.
