Matera Cielo Stellato

On September 27, 2025, Matera Cielo Stellato transformed the Sassi into a shared space for contemplation and listening: the extinguishing of public lights and the illumination with thousands of candles and small lamps restored a timeless atmosphere to the alleys, while piano and electronic music and narration accompanied the participants. The event, a new edition of a light ritual that has marked significant moments in Matera's life in different eras, took place between Sasso Barisano and Piazza Duomo as part of the journey towards Matera Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026, serving as a laboratory of culture, vision, and community.
