The Mercatino in Corte is one of the most characteristic events in Luzzana, a small municipality in Val Cavallina in the province of Bergamo. The setting is one that leaves a lasting impression: the courtyard of the Contemporary Art Museum and the park of the Castle, which for the occasion are filled with stalls, colors, and performances.

Antiques, crafts, and street art

The heart of the market is the stalls of antiques and crafts, which attract collectors and the curious. The streets and spaces of the village are enlivened by street artists — jugglers, stilt walkers, fire eaters, and storytellers — along with live music, vintage motorcycle exhibitions, and activities for children, including face painting, bouncy castles, and Nutella parties in the Castle park.

The connection with the Meli Museum and the Giant

The event is closely linked to Luzzana's artistic heritage. During the day, visits to the Meli Museum and the famous rock sculpture of the "Giant" are possible. This is an early work by sculptor Giosuè Meli (1816-1893), carved into the living rock along the Via Costa staircase, from which the organizing association takes its name. The Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) will also have special openings with dedicated exhibitions.

Organized by the Municipality of Luzzana, the Meli Museum, and the Il Gigante Cultural Association, the event is among the best known in Val Cavallina and represents a valuable opportunity to discover a village rich in history and art, in the heart of the province of Bergamo.
