Maria Santissima Assunta in Cielo

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria Santissima Assunta in Cielo in Gallipoli spanned five days, from August 12 to 16. The opening on August 12 at 9:00 PM featured an organ performance by Maestro Luigi Solidoro at the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the lighting of the illuminations along Via Briganti and Via Angeli.

On August 14, following the morning ceremonial gunfire, the solemn procession took place at 8:00 PM through the historic center, accompanied by the "Santa Cecilia - Città di Gallipoli" Brass Band. The day of Ferragosto, August 15, was marked by Eucharistic celebrations, the band's performance through the city streets, an evening concert in Largo Briganti, and the fireworks display at midnight, launched from the mercantile port. The festival concluded on August 16 with the "Rione in Festa," featuring local flavors, street performers, and the traveling show of the "Stella Band Serenade" in the alleys of the old town.
