Edition 2025 — Maiorchino Tournament

The 2025 edition of the Maiorchino Festival and Tournament brought Novara di Sicilia to life throughout the Carnival, with pecorino rolling competitions held every weekend along the alleys of the historic center. The event concluded with the tournament final and the traditional maccheronata in the square, featuring tastings of maiorchino, ricotta, and typical Nebrodi products.

2025 Edition

In 2025, the Maiorchino Tournament once again attracted enthusiasts and curious visitors to Novara di Sicilia throughout the Carnival period. Teams competed every weekend, rolling wheels of aged pecorino along the characteristic route from Via Duomo to Piano Don Michele, through the steep alleys of the Nebrodi village.

The competition concluded on Shrove Tuesday with the final and the grand Maiorchino Festival: a maccheronata with pork sauce and grated maiorchino, accompanied by bread, wine, and tastings of ricotta and local cheeses. An event that, as every year, confirmed the community's strong bond with this traditional game recognized as intangible heritage.
