MAGNETICA – Electronic Music Encounters

Magnetica 2025, the first edition

The first edition of Magnetica was held in Florence from March 13 to 15, 2025, hosted at Villa Strozzi and the Limonaia of Villa Strozzi, on Via Pisana 77. The debut of the festival produced by Tempo Reale was dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Luciano Berio, the center's founder.

The program offered a training workshop led by Federico Visi, three talk sessions (one per day), and nine concerts, organized around three themes: machine learning and artificial intelligence, DIY and interactive instruments, and acousmatics and space. Among the protagonists were the Bologna Improvisation Group and the Butcher/Lehn/Robair trio, as well as numerous composers and conservatory students. Talks were free to attend, while concerts cost €5 (full) and €3 (reduced).
