Edition 2025 — Madunnuzza Festival

In 2025, Marineo once again renewed its appointment with the Madunnuzza Festival, celebrated on September 8th for the Nativity of Mary. The faithful gathered for the pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Scanzano, in the town's countryside, amidst rosaries, processions, and religious services. Alongside the devotional aspect, the day maintained its character as a community festival, with outdoor gatherings in keeping with the local rural tradition.

The 2025 edition of the Madunnuzza Festival

On September 8, 2025, the community of Marineo, in the province of Palermo, gathered for the Madunnuzza festival, on the occasion of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The heart of the festivities was, as per tradition, the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Scanzano, reached in pilgrimage by the faithful along the countryside surrounding the town.

The day alternated moments of prayer, with rosaries, litanies, and Eucharistic celebrations, with popular conviviality in the greenery of Scanzano, among ancient oaks and olive trees. A recurring event that continues to pass down Marian devotion and the rural identity of Marineo.
