Edition 2025 — Madonna Raccomandata

The 2025 edition of the Madonna Raccomandata Festival renewed the secular rites of Marian devotion among the fishermen of the Saja district in Giardini-Naxos. Between September 7th and 9th, the town gathered around its patron saint, with the descent of the statue (A Scinnuta), the great procession on September 8th, and the return to the church (the Acchianata), accompanied by the blessing of the boats, a brass band concert, and fireworks over the sea.

The 2025 edition

In 2025, the Madonna Raccomandata Festival once again represented the most anticipated moment of the year in Giardini-Naxos, in the province of Messina. The festivities followed the traditional calendar, peaking on September 7th, 8th, and 9th.

On September 7th, A Scinnuta took place, the descent of the statue amidst the singing of hymns dedicated to the Virgin. On September 8th, the main day, the statue traveled through the entire town in a procession to the cry of "Evviva la Gran Signura Maria", with a brass band concert and fireworks closing the evening. On September 9th, the Acchianata returned the statue to the Mother Church, sealing a festival that continues to unite faith, sea, and town identity.
