Madonna di Porto Salvo Festival

The 2025 edition

On July 19 and 20, 2025, Lipari renewed its devotion to the Madonna di Porto Salvo, patron saint of seafarers. Once again this year, the most anticipated moment was the sea procession: numerous boats gathered in front of the Sottomonastero pier to accompany the statue of the Madonna to Punta San Francesco, accompanied by the island's brass band.

Upon the statue's return, a solemn Eucharistic mass was celebrated on the beach in front of the small church, while the evening concluded with traditional fireworks reflected on the harbor waters. In the preceding days, there was no shortage of musical events and tastings of typical Aeolian products, from Malvasia wine to traditional local sweets.
