Madonna di Monte Tranquillo Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna di Monte Tranquillo Festival took place on Sunday, July 27, the last Sunday of the month as per tradition. The celebration was presided over for the first time by Bishop Giovanni Massaro, head of the diocese. The long processional parade accompanied the statue of the Black Madonna through the streets of Pescasseroli and up to the Monte Tranquillo sanctuary, where mass was celebrated. In the afternoon, the traditional return to the village with the gesture of raising branches in thanksgiving concluded a day of intense popular devotion, with hundreds of faithful, horses, and the participation of the Marsica community.
