Edition 2025 — Madonna della Tibia Torchlight Procession

In the summer of 2025, the Madonna della Tibia Torchlight Procession kicked off the rich season of events in the village of Crognaleto on 9 August. The night-time procession climbed to the Marian sanctuary, lighting up the paths of the Gran Sasso and launching a calendar that continued throughout the month with games, exhibitions on rural life, folk choirs, and dance evenings, concluding with the final event on 8 September.

The 2025 edition of the Madonna della Tibia Torchlight Procession took place on 9 August in Crognaleto, in the province of Teramo, opening a particularly lively summer season organised by the local Pro Loco. After the night-time procession to the sanctuary, the calendar continued with children's games on 17 August, an exhibition of rural life objects on 21 August accompanied by folk choirs, and a dance evening on 23 August. The season concluded on 8 September with the Marian feast, confirming the role of the Gran Sasso sanctuary as a devotional and identity-defining landmark for the communities of the Abruzzo valley.
