Madonna della Stella Festival 2025

The 2025 edition of the Madonna della Stella Festival in Palagiano (Taranto) was held on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, in the usual atmosphere of faith and popular participation.

Saturday began at dawn: at 5:00 AM, the Holy Rosary was recited, followed at 5:30 AM by a mass presided over by the Bishop of Castellaneta, Monsignor Sabino Iannuzzi. Throughout the morning, celebrations were held for the sick, the elderly, the youth, and couples. In the afternoon, after the Rosary, the blessing of the tagghiarine and the return procession brought the image of the Madonna from the countryside back to the parish church.

Sunday, the heart of the festival, was dedicated to the procession through the town streets, amidst illuminations and devotion. In the evening, the secular festivities reached their peak with a concert by the group Terraross in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, which entertained the community with folk music from Salento and Puglia.
