Madonna della Provvidenza Rural Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna della Provvidenza Rural Festival took place in early September in Santa Caterina Villarmosa (Caltanissetta), concluding on the first Sunday of the month. For four days, the countryside chapel and the surrounding hill hosted the festival's traditional games, such as the antenna, pignatuna, and cuccagna, along with music, dancing, and prize competitions.

There was no shortage of traditional peasant flavors: boiled chickpeas and fava beans, cuccìa, muffuletti with meat sauce, and grilled meats, accompanied by local wine. The festival, experienced by the locals as the town's most heartfelt event, confirmed in 2025 the strong bond between the community and this ancient rural tradition of the local area.
