Madonna della Pietà Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna della Pietà Festival took place in Pettineo (ME) on August 24. The day began with the sound of the brass band through the village streets, while from early afternoon until late at night, the Church of the Madonna della Pietà, on the outskirts of the village, was the destination for continuous pilgrimages by residents, returning emigrants, and faithful from neighboring towns.

In the late afternoon, an open-air evening mass was celebrated, animated by the parish choir, followed by the long procession of the Madonna statue along the main streets of the historic center. The festival concluded with a moment of light music. Admission was free.

Schedule for August 24, 2025:

• Morning/Afternoon — opening with the brass band through the village streets and continuous pilgrimages to the Church of the Madonna della Pietà.
• Late afternoon — open-air evening mass animated by the parish choir.
• Evening — procession of the statue of the Madonna through the historic center.
• Following — light music entertainment to close the festival.
