The 2025 edition
The 2025 Madonna della Pietà Festival took place in Sant'Angelo in Theodice, a village of Cassino, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, on the occasion of Mother's Day. As per secular tradition, the festivities were preceded by the triduum of preparation and the transfer of the sacred image from the Sanctuary of the Pietà to the parish church of San Giovanni Battista.
The day featured a solemn mass, a tribute to the Fallen, and two processions: the morning one toward the sanctuary and the evening one, which culminated in the traditional encounter of the statues and a grand nocturnal fireworks display that illuminated the sky above the village. Brass band music and entertainment accompanied one of the most well-attended editions, confirming the festival as the most beloved event for the local community.
