Edition 2025 — Madonna della Pietà
The 2025 Madonna della Pietà Festival was celebrated in Montrone, a village in the municipality of Adelfia in the province of Bari, on Sunday, September 7, and Monday, September 8. The community gathered around the venerated image of Maria Santissima della Pietà for two days of intense popular devotion.
On Sunday evening, the statue was carried in procession on shoulders through the streets of the center, with hundreds of people participating. On Monday, according to tradition, the image was placed on the flower-adorned float and led in procession to the Pietà Chapel, before returning to the Mother Church. Illuminations and brass band music provided the backdrop for a festival that renews the bond between the people of Montrone and their co-patron saint every year.
