Madonna della Catena Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna della Catena Festival in Villarosa (EN) was celebrated on Monday, September 8th, 2025, in accordance with local popular tradition. The day combined moments of deep devotion - the barefoot pilgrimage of the faithful from Villarosa and Villapriolo, the masses, and the procession of the statue from the countryside church to the Immacolata Concezione Parish Church - with the joyful atmosphere of a village festival.

To crown the day, in Piazza Madonna della Catena, at 10:00 PM, the traveling show 'Sicilia in Festa' was performed, hosted by Diego Caltabiano, with the participation of artists from the Sicilian comedy and musical scene such as Antonio Balistreri, Sandro Vergato, Lillo Puccio, and a tribute to De André by Peppone. An evening of music, cabaret, and tradition that brought the Marian celebrations to a festive close in the heart of inland Sicily.
