Edition 2025 — Madonna del Lume Porticello
The Madonna del Lume Festival in Porticello in 2025 attracted thousands of faithful and visitors to the seaside village of Santa Flavia, in the province of Palermo, as it does every year. The main moments were concentrated on the weekend of Saturday, October 4th, and Sunday, October 5th, featuring cabaret, music, and entertainment at Piano Stenditore, alongside solemn religious celebrations.
The grand procession of the vara, carried on the shoulders of barefoot devotees, crossed the entire village with a stop at Santa Nicolicchia for the re-enactment of the painting's discovery, while the final Sunday featured the evocative sea procession towards Capo Zafferano with a parade of fishing boats. There was no shortage of drummers, Sicilian carts, popular games, evening concerts, and the highly anticipated fireworks.
