Edition 2025 — Madonna del Carmine

The 2025 edition of the Madonna del Carmine Festival took place in Nardò on July 15th and 16th. The heart of the festivities was the eve procession with the statue of the Virgin, accompanied by the Nardò Town Band – Terra d'Arneo through the streets of the historic center. The civil program was rich: plays in the Nardò dialect in Piazza Salandra, folk music by the group Lu Rusciu Nosciu, a craft market, children's entertainment, and food stalls on the church square.

Religious and popular program

The 2025 Madonna del Carmine Festival in Nardò opened on Tuesday, July 15th, with a Eucharistic celebration at the Church of the Carmine in the presence of civil and religious authorities, followed at 8:00 PM by the solemn procession with the statue of the Virgin along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Piazza della Repubblica, and the village streets, accompanied by the Nardò Town Band – Terra d'Arneo. In the evening, in Piazza Salandra, the Piccolo Teatro Città di Nardò performed the play in the local dialect "Questo spettacolo è una farsa… anzi 2!".

On Wednesday, July 16th, the solemnity of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, the day continued with Holy Masses, a craft market in Piazza della Repubblica, children's entertainment with Mago Millo in the Carmelite Cloister, charity food stalls on the church square, and, in closing, a folk music performance by the group Lu Rusciu Nosciu in Piazza Salandra.
