Edition 2025 — Maccaronara Festival
The 46th edition
In 2025, the Maccaronara Festival reached its 46th edition, confirming its status as one of the longest-running food and wine events in Irpinia. It was held on Tuesday, August 12th and Wednesday, August 13th in Piazza Monumento, the heart of Castelvetere sul Calore, organized by the Pro Loco with the support of the municipal administration, the Campania Region, and the UNPLI provincial committee of Avellino.
Stalls opened at 7:30 PM on both days. On the evening of August 12th, the festivities began at 8:00 PM with folk music by the group Piccimondo. On August 13th, the event opened at lunchtime with tastings of traditional local dishes, followed in the evening by the Simpatici Italiani from 8:00 PM and a concert by Zeketam and the Banda della Posta at 10:00 PM.
At the center of the two days, as always, was the maccaronara: handmade water-and-flour pasta, served with tomato sauce and accompanied by typical Irpinian products and wines.
