Edition 2025 — Stone Theatres Syracuse

The 2025 edition of the Lyric Festival of the Stone Theatres, titled "Breathing the Myth," brought two highly successful events to the Greek Theatre of Syracuse: the tribute to Ennio Morricone on July 12 and Verdi's Aida on July 24. Both events were sold out, with over 6,000 spectators and standing ovations.

2025 Edition – "Breathing the Myth"

The 7th edition of the Lyric Festival of the Stone Theatres, titled "Breathing the Myth," established the Syracuse stage as one of the most anticipated moments of the season. On July 12, 2025, the tribute to Ennio Morricone, on the fifth anniversary of the Maestro's passing, was a complete sell-out with over 6,000 spectators and a long standing ovation, featuring the Coro Lirico Siciliano and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Calabria conducted by Maestro Filippo Arlia.

On July 24, 2025, it was time for Giuseppe Verdi's Aida, presented in the world premiere of the critical edition curated by Anselm Gerhard. Directed by Salvo Dolce and again featuring the Coro Lirico Siciliano, the performance was simultaneously translated into Sign Language, confirming the festival's commitment to inclusion in the Municipality of Syracuse, Sicily.
