Luminaria di San Domenico

How the 2025 edition went

The Luminaria di San Domenico 2025 was held in Praiano, in the Province of Salerno, from August 1st to 4th, confirming the structure built over twenty years of work by the president and set designer Gennaro Amendola, to whom the edition was dedicated.

On the evenings of August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the ringing of the bells of the Convent and the Church of San Gennaro marked the lighting of 3,000 candles arranged in Piazza San Gennaro, while architectural projections on the church facade accompanied visitors on a visual journey through the village; the monumental complex of the Convent of Santa Maria a Castro was also illuminated.

On Monday, August 4th, the feast day of Saint Dominic, holy masses were celebrated in the morning at the Convent; in the evening, after the Eucharistic celebration, at 10:30 PM, the final show Horizon by the French company La Salamandre was performed, a journey from the mythological origins of human culture toward a harmonious future entrusted to a group of dancing angels. In 2025 as well, admission was completely free.
