Edition 2025 — Luminara dell'Assunta

On August 14, 2025, Santa Maria a Monte renewed the Luminara dell'Assunta, a centuries-old tradition on the eve of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary. As every year, from 5:00 PM, the approximately seven thousand candles that illuminate the facades of the snail-shaped village were lit, while at 9:30 PM the procession departed from the Collegiate Church along Via Carducci, Via delle Grazie, and Piazza della Vittoria.

The 2025 edition of the Luminara dell'Assunta took place on August 14th in the historic center of Santa Maria a Monte (PI). Once again in 2025, the snail-shaped village was enveloped by approximately seven thousand candles placed in glass cups on white wooden frames, lit starting in the late afternoon.

At 9:30 PM, the procession departed from the Collegiate Church of San Giovanni Evangelista, crossing Via Carducci, Via delle Grazie, and Piazza della Vittoria. The Assumption feast then continued in the following days with the traditional Fried Potato Festival, confirming an event that has united devotion, history, and community for over six centuries.
