Edition 2025 — Lumberjack Festival

Following the inaugural edition in September 2024, the Campotosto Lumberjack Festival continued its journey of promoting forest crafts and the agro-silvo-pastoral traditions of the L'Aquila mountains, confirming itself as a reference point for the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga plateau, featuring lumberjack triathlon competitions, demonstrations, local gastronomy, and music.

The Lumberjack Festival after the inaugural edition

The Lumberjack Festival was born in Campotosto in September 2024, with a first edition hosted in the town's sports field area and promoted by the Municipality, the Pro Loco, and the Vivere la Montagna Association, with the patronage of the Abruzzo Region, the Province of L'Aquila, and the GAL Gran Sasso Velino. From its debut, the event combined lumberjack triathlon competitions with moments of reflection on the future of the agro-silvo-pastoral sector, along with food stalls and musical entertainment.

The formula focused on forest skills and crafts, the bond between mountain communities and their territory, and the desire to promote Campotosto and its famous lake as a destination for slow and authentic tourism, within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park.
