Locorotondo Living Nativity

Fifteenth edition at Sottovilla

For its fifteenth edition, the Locorotondo Living Nativity chose a new setting: the Sottovilla, an enchanting place nestled in greenery and overlooking the panoramas of the Itria Valley. The performance took place on December 27 and 28, 2025, and January 6, 2026, starting in the afternoon.

The theme of the edition was The Search for Peace, developed from the image of the threshold according to the pastoral guidelines of Archbishop Giovanni Intini, with Saint Francis of Assisi as an ideal companion on the occasion of the eight-hundredth anniversary of his death.

The route, animated by over fifty participants in period costumes, started from the artisan village in the rotunda and unfolded along the staircase, among living tableaux of the Nativity and workshops of ancient crafts. The Agesci-Gruppo Scout Locorotondo 1 and the Catholic Action collaborated on the realization, with the support of the BCC Locorotondo and the patronage of the Municipality. Admission was free, with voluntary donations, and the route was accessible from Via Martina Franca (with elevator) and Via Nardelli.

The route

Starting from the artisan village set up in the rotunda, continuing along the staircase: theatrical scenes of the Nativity, living tableaux, and workshops of ancient crafts, animated by over fifty participants in period costumes on the theme "The Search for Peace."
