Edition 2023 — Living Via Crucis

The 2023 edition of the Living Via Crucis of Frassinoro took place on Friday, April 7, Good Friday. Around 500 participants brought to life the fourteen stations along the village streets, with the opening tableau of Jesus in the Garden of Olives. The procession, which began at 9:00 PM from the Abbey parvis, was accompanied by the parish choir and the reading of the Gospel, in an atmosphere of intense popular participation.

The Living Via Crucis of Frassinoro on April 7, 2023, renewed the triennial tradition, once again transforming the Apennine village of Modena into a large open-air theatre. The celebration of the Passion began at 8:00 PM in the Abbey Church, followed at 9:00 PM by the procession through the village streets. As parish priest Don Luca Pazzaglia recalled, each station is entrusted to a family group, and the emotion involves both those who perform and those who watch. The organization provided shuttle buses, refreshment points, restrooms, and medical assistance for the numerous pilgrims and visitors. Since that year, the event has been part of Europassione per l'Italia.
