Living Nativity

The 2025 edition brought the Living Nativity back to the heart of Chiaramonte Gulfi after more than ten years of absence, stirring great emotion in the Iblei community. The route was held on December 26 and 30, 2025, and January 1 and 6, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, along the alleys and stairways of the historic center.

The re-enactment, set in the rural Chiaramonte of the 1940s and 50s, saw the recovery of many disused ground-floor premises to host the scenes: local women intent on preparing homemade bread, the blacksmith, the farrier, the barber, the washerwoman, and the tavern. The opening was entrusted to a procession that, from Piazza Duomo, accompanied Saint Joseph and the Virgin Mary on a donkey, preceded by three Roman legionaries and followed by angels and shepherds, to the site of the nativity. The initiative was promoted by the Youth Council together with the Municipality of Chiaramonte Gulfi.
