Edition 2025 — Living Nativity
The Living Nativity of Rocca Santo Stefano returned to the stage on December 27, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM. In the small municipality of the Upper Aniene Valley, in the province of Rome, the historic center once again transformed into a natural backdrop for the performance of the Nativity.
Along the entirely pedestrian route, local volunteers re-enacted traditional local trades—from the woodworking of coopers and vat-makers to bread-making, spinning, and agricultural work—guiding visitors up to the scene of the Holy Family. The evening timing, with lighting provided by braziers and lanterns, restored the intimate atmosphere of Christmases past to the stone alleys.
The edition, which was free to attend, confirmed the stable return of the event to the Christmas calendar of eastern Lazio, following a few years of interruption.
