Living Nativity of Casalvecchio Siculo

Living Nativity 2025/2026

The 2025/2026 edition of the Living Nativity of Casalvecchio Siculo was held over two evening events, on December 27, 2025, and January 4, 2026. The village's historic center was once again transformed into a grand natural stage, with stone houses and narrow streets around Piazza Vecchia illuminated by torchlight.

Over two hundred actors in historical costumes brought the sacred scenes to life, from the census to the birth of Jesus. Along the route, visitors discovered ancient craft workshops and sampled traditional Casalvecchio flavors, including frittole, bean stew with pork rinds, cuzzola, sausage on the log, crespelle, and local wine. The event, organized by the Pro Loco and the Archpriest's Office, confirmed the nativity as one of the most evocative on the Ionian Coast.
