Edition 2025 — Aragona Living Nativity

During Christmas 2024, Aragona confirmed its title as the "city of nativity scenes" with a rich circuit of nativity displays in the historic center and living nativity performances, animated by costumed actors amidst ancient crafts, local food tastings, and Christmas carols, open until Epiphany.

The 2024/2025 Christmas edition brought back the tradition of the living nativity and the widespread nativity scenes that characterize the town in the Agrigento province. The performances, animated by numerous actors in period costumes, recreated ancient crafts and scenes of daily life, with tastings of local products such as boiled chickpeas.

Alongside the living nativity, the "Aragona city of nativity scenes" circuit featured displays set up in churches and neighborhoods: from the Chiesa della Provvidenza, with its mining-inspired and Pirandellian settings, to the Chiesa Madre with its 18th-century papier-mâché statues, and various nativity scenes spread across staircases and courtyards, visitable throughout the holiday period until January 6.
