Edition 2025 — LiveOlive
LiveOlive 2025: the inaugural season
2025 marked the birth of LiveOlive and the Teatro degli Ulivi in Fossacesia, in the province of Chieti: an open-air theatre created within a two-hectare olive grove owned by the Fossacesia-born baritone Emilio Marcucci, the creator of the festival.
The season opened with La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi (June 14, 15, 21, and 22), presented as a sensory experience by the light of over a thousand candles, amidst the scents of the countryside and the Adriatic sea breeze. The programme continued with the poetic show Un canto d'amore and Dei treni restano le nuvole by the Nino Saraceni theatre group, performed on June 28 and 29.
The formula, featuring an aperitif of typical products before the shows, immediately combined grand opera, nature, and the flavours of Abruzzo, laying the foundations for subsequent editions.
