Three days of Gallina di Polverara, education, animals, and local flavors
The Little Chick Festival is an event in Polverara, a small municipality in the province of Padua famous for its native poultry breed. The event originated as the culmination of an educational project carried out with the Polverara Comprehensive Institute, dedicated to the Gallina di Polverara: the local breed recognizable by its characteristic crest of feathers on its head.
The festival, hosted in the spaces of the Parish of San Fidenzio, offers a rich program: conferences and workshops dedicated to the native breed, animal exhibition (chickens, alpacas), food stand, live music, exhibition of agricultural machinery, rides, and a market. A mix designed to engage entire families, from children to enthusiasts of rural traditions.
Valuing the Gallina di Polverara means defending a piece of the territory's identity: the festival is also an opportunity to rediscover the town's farming roots and to introduce new generations to the rural heritage of the Saccisica and Padovano areas.
The 2nd edition of the Little Chick Festival takes place from May 15 to 17, 2026, in the spaces of the Parish of San Fidenzio in Polverara. The event concludes the educational project carried out with the Polverara Comprehensive Institute on the Gallina di Polverara, with a program that intertwines dissemination, entertainment, and gastronomy.
