Edition 2025 — Libri nel Borgo

The third edition of «Libri nel Borgo» took place in Alberona from August 2 to 5, 2025, in Piazza Civetta, themed «Returns». Four evenings featured book presentations, readings, live music, and meetings with authors and journalists, focusing on the themes of leaving one's homeland, migration, and roots in the small towns of the Monti Dauni. The festival was organized by the UNESCO Club of Alberona with the GnT Association and the patronage of the Municipality.

2025 Edition: «Returns»

From August 2 to 5, 2025, Alberona hosted the third edition of Libri nel Borgo, with events spread across Piazza Civetta, Palazzo Civetta, and the Church of San Rocco. The chosen theme, «Returns», guided a reflection on leaving one's homeland, migration, identity, and the resilience of the small towns of the Daunian Subapennine. Alongside the literary meetings, the public enjoyed craft exhibitions, local products, traditional costume shows, and children's games.

The Meetings

The festival opened on Saturday, August 2, with greetings from the UNESCO Club president Orfina Scrocco, FICLU president Teresa Gualtieri, and Mayor Leonardo De Matthaeis, followed by the presentation of «Il naufragio della speranza» by Duilio Paiano. Subsequent days featured Giorgio Ventricelli, Gerardo Fascia with «Acquasale», the round table «Villages through the eyes of women» with guest Giacinto Pinto (editor-in-chief of Tg1), and a reading by Stefania Benincaso accompanied by the violin of Adriana Caruso, concluding with Leonardo D'Alesio and the novel «Differenti» by Gianfilippo Mignogna and Giorgio Frassineti.

Monday, August 4 — 7:00 PM round table «Villages through the eyes of women» with Giacinto Pinto (Tg1); reading by Stefania Benincaso with violinist Adriana Caruso. Tuesday, August 5 — 6:00 PM Leonardo D'Alesio, «La rosa di Gerico»; 7:00 PM Gianfilippo Mignogna and Giorgio Frassineti, «Differenti».
